Bitter Sweet is a profound still life that mirrors the resilience of life itself. The composition juxtaposes the visual sweetness of plump, red grapes with the pungent bitterness of garlic. This duality took on a deeper meaning when the painting was interrupted by my knee replacement surgery, forcing a three-month hiatus. Completed through perseverance and faith, the work ultimately transforms the bitter challenge into a triumph of the sweet return to the easel.
